in front of one of the rides is this jet engine that releases water vapor every few minutes to cool guests waiting in line. I just saw this and took the shot. couldn't tell you how many people came over and told me that if i shot into the sun that my picture wouldn't come out.

Thanks for looking at my photograph. I appreciate any comments or ratings you are kind enough to give. It is a color photograph, but i like the black tonal range with just a hint of color on the wet pavement.

It's a great idea, and I really like the way some of the figures dissolve into the haze. I just don't see a coherent composition. There's nothing to pick out as a central subject. Even the groups of people don't gel; everyone seems to be on their own. I'm not sure there's a strong image that can be pulled out of this, but I'd try cropping off a quarter to a third of the right-hand side and see if that makes it "grab" more.

Sensational Shot Darin!

I love the fact that you seem to be saying something through the silohettes.

Great work

You might consider cropping the picture almost in half - right down the middle empty space. I'd use the right half. In my humble opinion, the boy in front then becomes a focal point of the picture.

Like it, The silloettes (sp?) are fantastic. This is a very moody photo. Very universal, it could be a train station in 1914 or a street around the corner. I give you big thumbs up.

super, really super a unique, unearthly shot from an incredibly over-snapshotted environment. EXCELLENT.

I like the composition precisely because it lacks a focal point -- there is a mystery to what's going on that works well with the obscuring mist.

love the effect you achieved with this one. i bet you feel good about proving those people wrong :) haha. i really like how the people are so bold in the picture except for the last boy. i dont know exactly why i like that but i do. your image has a nice feel to it, good job!

Really great. It works because of the silhouettes. I would crop the guy on the far right though and leave the rest as is.

Agree with Andy. This photo works because there's no clue as to the story. You could place any kind of caption to it. The strong feeling that the silhouettes and the mist provoke, doesn't need additional comment. A truly successful one.

I am in the camp that says this photo works precisely because of the mystery. It seems often on photo.net, people seem to run a photo through some set of "rules" which are applied almost blindly. This one looks great. It could be from E.T. and the "subject" is the mysterious vagueness and the dimly sensed figures.

Great photo.

Way COOL. Looks like the group on the right is heading for the space ship and the group one the left just returned. I will add my best comment..." I wish I took that."

7/7 for your effert. Regards, Joe
