This child was trying his darndest to sit still during a long

graduation ceremony. Eventually, he ran up on stage to sit on his

uncle's lap.

I am trying to work out if it is a candid shot or if he is in trouble of any other number of things that look could relate to.

It's a candid. He was trying his best not to be too fidgety

Great pic..however one nitpicking comment ...catchlights in the eyes would have worked wonders.

You have captured a precious moment in a child's life. On one of your other pictures I mentioned my "implied sight rule." Applying it here would indicate that a much bigger blank space could profitably be left at the side of the picture toward which the subject is looking; sort of more space to look into.
