marcadamus 1 Posted December 5, 2007 Dramatic peaks rise above this 11,500 foot Sierra lake in early Winter. The twilight glow hangs on the peaks, complimenting beautiful clouds fading away to the East and the cresent moon. A 2-stop graduated filter helped me control the exposure and I used a polarizer to darken and emphisize the sky. Link to comment
lalit 0 Posted December 5, 2007 Aha...a beautiful mountain shot from you after long time. Ruggedness of the high mountains, the boulder fields the peaks, the absolute dramatic sky with the colorful clouds totally overtaken by those peaks and swirling around them, the beautiful reflection, the location of the rock in the foreground, the crack in the rock leading to the peaks...This is so much complex than it looks, because of how it is executed. No comments on the technicalities. It is totally breathless. Thanx for such an awesome treat! +Lalit Link to comment
tom grubbe 0 Posted December 8, 2007 Marc, I don't recognize this area. Where in the Sierras is this? Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted December 8, 2007 Tom, this is out near Dusy Basin over Bishop Pass. Link to comment
gdanmitchell 0 Posted January 9, 2008 I think it is Isosceles Peak - a stunning feature of this high, alpine basin just west of the Sierra crest. (One of my favorite places.) Dan Link to comment

labuenaluz 0 Posted July 3, 2008 Pure magic Marc, the swirls of twilight enlighted cirrus interacting with your choice on composition of the reflection..., mindblowing!!. Few minor things I would consider for this wonderfull jewel (surely you have noticed them too); the little tilt to the left, some local darkening on the main spire reflection at least to even the shadows, and maybe I would also try another version cropping the left peak (moreless 1/5 on the left side, just where the first vertical slab begins/ends) Link to comment
