mg 0 Posted July 23, 2002 Not really new, but quite flashy. My problem here is the composition and aesthetics, which are maybe not really great enough to take us further than the fun we get at first sight. For example, you might want to try cuting the flower an moving it to the bottom left - still within the shadow area. Then crop a reasonably tight perfect square around the 2 flowers - where the shadow's edge would go from bottom left to top right corner. Then imagine the wall texture very sharp. That would, imo, be a lot better than this image as it is. What's missing here is symetry and beauty. That's what would give the feeling of harmony that's missing here. Basically, you need a perfectly accurate symetrical composition - as regular and balanced as the yin & yang symbol. Regards. Link to comment
ivan_geshev 0 Posted July 23, 2002 I think the beauty of this picture is that the composition is absolutely natural, as I found it between the rocks outside Churchill. Thanks again.Ivan Link to comment
gk photography 0 Posted July 23, 2002 I'm not crazy about this colors but this is a wonderful composition! Very nice stuff. Would monochrome have helped? Link to comment
joffre_swait 0 Posted July 26, 2002 The composition very much supports the conceptualization reflected in the title. Congratulations! Greater depth of field would have helped to bring the backdrop and shadow into better focus, which would have been helpful ... Link to comment
blago 0 Posted August 6, 2002 I doubt the suggestions about improving the composition and DOF. They lead to other photos with different messages. The selected DOF here shows the photographer,s position in the duality. Anyhow, powerful image. Congratulations! (Bulgarin ili ot takuw proizhod?) Blago Link to comment
