benb 0 Posted July 25, 2002 This is my first successful long exposure after getting a tripod a week or two ago. What do you think? Some of the other tries had the moon in the frame, but it was a 1/4 moon and for some reason the black part of the moon showed up on the film too, or the moon flared. Some of the other pictures showed details on the boats. (There was a light down by the water) I couldn't decide which exposure I liked best. Thanks, Link to comment
michelle_cox 0 Posted July 25, 2002 I like the right part of the photo better than the left. I find the bright lights to be distracting, and the star effect looks odd. The right side is beautiful, though. If you get another chance, try shooting a spot without the lights and let it go just a bit longer so the boats are a bit clearer. That would make it perfect in my book. (Then, of course, you need to reshoot it 6 billion more times to please everyone else. [grin]) Link to comment
mike_sea 0 Posted July 31, 2002 Nice shot Ben, A little sad that you had to contend with the lights on the left but you still have a good frame. Mike Sea Link to comment
cakeller98 0 Posted August 26, 2002 Nice, well composed... the bright lights on the shore are a bit distracting... do you think you could get the people to turn them off?? ok, just kidding. Actually they fit right in here. is that the moon? love the color too. Link to comment
vahe_peroomian 0 Posted August 27, 2002 I'd like to make an unorthodox suggestion... I know you included so much sky to show the moon, but I don't think the moon adds enough to this image for it to be worthwhile. I'd suggest cropping most of the sky away, so that the edge of the lake was not so near the middle of the frame. That way, you'd have the lake and the part of the sky with the richest colors. Just a thought.... Link to comment
