A bit more hand and a bit less rock, a bit darker and a bit less grain, and this was very good. Regards.

I hate to be the one to say this (because it's such a wonderful photo--truly!), but I believe it's illegal to feed animals within National Park boundaries. I don't know if the hand belongs to a companion of yours, or someone else, but it's just something to keep in mind for next time.

That said, I want to reiterate that this is a great shot. The composition, the colors, the exposure, the focus. Very, very nice. Thanks for sharing. Hope I didn't come off too harsh.

Best wishes!

I totaly agree with Marc. A re-shoot is in order, so get your crew back out there to Glasier National Park and frame it up better. Contact your little model friend, the assistant and wait for a perfect blue sky (clouds might be a little distracting for this composition). I would recommend that you ditch that cheap film you're using for some Provia 400F, you need that 400 ASA in case that little critter decides to move on you, and this film will solve the grain problem. If your assistant could or would show some wrist, I think this would give it more style. A hairy wrist would be better. And of course, cut a bit of that crusty grey rock out at the bottom and make it a little darker. We think you would have a perfect presentation with these improvements. Also, if the cheese was a little less yellow, it may help.

To me, this only goes to show the stupidity and cruelty of certain members of the human species.

Who's to say that whoever was holding the food actually let it go?

Anyway, I think it's a great shot, but agree that more hand/less rock would've made it an excellent shot. Good job, keep goin'!

interesting range of comments....I have never been to Glacier but if this little guy wants to trade homes, I would be willing to take advantage of him.

Nice light- I really like squirrels. It's an interesting composition; what is the source of the intense blue?

Nice!

Who's cares about feeding squires. When their not looking cute, their picking nuts and corn out of ... Well, if something this harmless is illegal, what's the United Nation doing on Sovereign land? Look at the entrance sign to these national parks now.

The picture is interesting for a few reasons. I like the stretching squirrel, it's adorable. This is a diffiucult shot to get, however I question your methods in getting it. Though I like the picture, I would never use this approach myself. There are a multitude of good reasons why it's illegal to feed the animals in Glacier Park; and strangely, this picture exemplifies the ethics behind those reasons. I'm not here to preach. I like the asthetics, but I dislike the methodology. Please don't feed the animals for your gain.

This website is supposed to be about constructive critisism, not self-righteous bitching. Excellent photo! Don't listen to all the jerks telling you that you exploited the poor squirell for personal gain. Comments like that are the reason why I took all of my photos off of this website -- people who cannot take an interesting photograph to save their life like to put the others down.

Putting aside the ethics, it´s a great picture. The stretching model is very funny.

I also would like more hand (including the wrist) and less, darker rock. If you plan to reshoot this, use just a little fill flash to add a catchligt in its eyes.
