sideris 0 Posted December 9, 2007 You've captured the true spirit of this little girl. I have a child and I know how difficult are they for a really good composition (I am not talking about those lovely family shots that only like to the parents and grandparents....) Why I like it too much? No tricks, no digital alterations, no pretensions. Absolute photographic honesty, and an unforgettable result at all. As a "bonus track", great selective focus and lightning, clear definition. Very well done Joseph. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted December 9, 2007 I've enjoyed your candid portraits of children, I think some of them would work well in B&W, part of the appeal is the expressions and emotions you capture on these cute kids. Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted December 10, 2007 I know, others don't but I personally like it when they are all a mess and they look like they really do in real life. I love how you captured her dead on and her eyes are looking up at something almost above the camera. You can see how she is going to look at 16 and 26 in this picture. She has that bit of older look to her. The glimps of the future to it. I guess it is the bit of flush face and lips. The picture (to me) is wonderful! Link to comment
dseltzer 0 Posted December 11, 2007 Joe, you have such a gift. Pretty much already said, but still worth adding my admiration for the deep beauty of this girl and your photo. The shot is seemingly simple, but it's certainly not, given the many elements that come together to make it work... the light, the angle, the moment, DoF, the bit of light through her hair (under her right jaw) that gives the shot an openness that adds to the vibrant life it projects. This may well be my favorite of your portraits so far! Warm regards, David Link to comment
