I had the image in my mind but the problem was to find a blue sky with one cloud. One day I could finally take a picture of such a sky. So I used this sky ( with PS) for background.

I'd like to see the original photo. I think you would have been better off leaving the sky as it was when you snapped the foreground (or at least it would be interesting to compare). I understand the desire to create something that meets your mental image, but I think the photoshopped-in blue sky and cloud detract from a remarkable foreground.

I think that all the elements of a great picture are here: great DOF, good use of 3rds, balance (with the house and the cloud), complementary colors (yellow and blue). My only suggestion is to lighten the sky a little.

SPLENDID !! 9 "only" in aesthetics - because of the little jpeg artefacts probably due to a little oversharpening.

 

Update (July 2005): 3 years later, with a lot more experience regarding such PS works, I feel I am, as I see this picture again, less enthusiastic than I was back then. I feel the sky color is too strong for this to look really natural. Still, nice composition. Just a bit too artificial. Regards.

i like it in general, it has a good elements balance, but there is one concern i have regarding movement. since the foreground is so into motion, i'd expect the cloud in the sky to be brushed by the wind too. that's why it looks to me a bit fake. i am sure you can get a more "matching" sky for this image. Good hunting!

You can also modify the sky in PS in order to provide movement to the cloud.

Firstly, I have to say that I love photos with vibrant greens, and this one is exceptional. There's nothing technical in my opinion. It's just one of those things. Personally, I feel that the blue of the sky contrasts well with the foreground. the composition, especially the horizontal plane works well for me. Perhaps the cloud is too big? You had the idea and did it. Cool.

The photoshopping is too obvious. BZZT. Try again.

High impact! Not a whole lot going on in this photo but the color contrast and composition really make it striking to the eye. Beautiful photo.
