Wisdom and Reflection

michael anderson

This 20,000 foot unclimbed Himalayan peak lies on the wilderness borders of Tibet. It is sacred to local Tibetan buddhists and represents the physical incarnation of the bodhisatva of Wisdom. It's the most beautiful peak I have ever seen and some believe it is the inspiration for Mt Karakal and the Shangri La Valley in the book 'Lost Horizon'. This was taken in the fall at sunrise after a dusting of snow the night before.

Michael, I really love your photography portfolio. This one is a great example of composition and exposure. Just a nitpick, but maybe it is part of an effect of the light hitting the snow, I see a kind of a halo along the border of the dark mountain on the left against the snowy mountain in the background.

An amazing shot Mickael!

This is one of the most spectacular mountain I've ever seen. Superb composition with the river leading the eyes to the summit.

Wonderfull light too and colors in the trees. I would dicover this location... maybe one day.

Xavier

I give this my highest regards for uniqueness and beauty Michael. I say unique because I have only seen one other rendition of this mountain, another photographer on P.N. Thats it!! It looks quite formidable and it is easy to see that it would be unclimbed. That I suppose is another unique quality of the place. Your treatment is epic as well. All of your portfolio is second to no one else. Great stuff I say!!!

Mark,

You are probably referring to the image by Huibo Hou. We actually met hiking there at the same time but later lost touch with each other. We connected again a year later by seeing each other's images here on Photo.net. Her images from this area are outstanding.
