einar 0 Posted November 27, 2007 Comments most welcome. Nice to know: These swords are raised over King Harald Fair-hair's victory at the battle of Hafrsfjord, approximately 880AD. In this battle he was able to unify Norway into one kingdom. Kingdoms in the Viking age had very little in common with the national state as we know it today. The title king was something you earned by proving yourself worthy of other mens trust i.e. through leadership in war. Link to comment

einar 0 Posted December 15, 2007 Thanks for your comment. I agree with you that this is the best one of the sword pictures. Given the fact that these shots are taken without a tripod, I had a terrible fight to find a stable position. Einar Link to comment
