1000wordsphotography 0 Posted July 22, 2002 Love the color here. This is my favorite of the folder. Link to comment
rjacksonphoto 0 Posted August 13, 2002 Great photo! Excellent composition and the colors are really unexpected in this usually monochrome subject. Wonderful job seeing this one and skillful execution in bringing it to the viewer. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted September 14, 2002 Carl, The type of shot one would expect from a piano technician who probably has seen this shot a thousand times over the years. Nice composition & great highlights. Best, LM. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 1, 2002 This is a wonderful composition Carl. I love the soft lighting on the keys. It makes me ponder the location of this piano. I look at this and think about some wonderful nightclubs I've been to where I've listened to outstanding jazz until 5 a.m. Where is Bill Evans to play this keyboard when we need him? :) Link to comment
seven 0 Posted December 15, 2002 Ebony and ivory, and gold - meld pleasantly. But am I imagining a magenta cast? Strong composition. Link to comment
root 0 Posted December 15, 2002 The colors are courtesy of a stained glass window. no corrections were made in PS. I have another one of the full keyboard which has less magenta for some reason, if I remember correctly. Link to comment
r.m. 8 Posted January 13, 2003 Had to stop here a moment as I just finished taking a few shots of my piano keyboard the other night, in B&W though and as yet undeveloped, because I was curious to see how the play in angles and lines would look, but that's besides the point, as I really just wanted to tell you that I think you have a very good eye for shapes & lines & angles. It's especially evident in this folder. Link to comment
ajpn 0 Posted June 4, 2004 Great color Carl. Just getting around to a lot of the stuff in your portfolio here, and I am at a loss for words. Link to comment
root 0 Posted June 6, 2004 Thanks for the visit. I had this shot in my mind's eye for at least a year before I found a church piano that was close enough to a stained glass window to separate the colors from each small piece of glass. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted June 18, 2004 Carl, Using the follow up feature, this one is just as appealing to me today as when I first commented on it. It's one of my favorites & the one I identify with you. To me, your use of bold colour in your shots closely resembles the style of the highly respected photographer, Pete Turner. root 0 Posted June 19, 2004 Thanks for your kind words, Len . . .one of my favorites, too. . . .and thanks for the the link to Pete Turner's web site. He seems to have a studio on Long Island where my daughter will be attending college. . . . worth a visit, maybe. Link to comment
