gnashings 5 Posted November 19, 2007 And this is how you do composites - good job. Where did you snap the IIc I wonder? Link to comment
shacknav 0 Posted November 19, 2007 Sorry, folks, should have stated that this was a composite when I posted. Thanks, Peter, the Hurricane was at Legends 05 and 06. Also at Canada shows (? Russel Group)- not sure if same airframe but presented in same colour/codes and serial. This one from Legends 06. Link to comment
gnashings 5 Posted November 20, 2007 I see the Russell group planes regularily, but never a IIc, and never in desert colours - jelous, once again:) Link to comment
shacknav 0 Posted November 21, 2007 Peter, after discussion with Jim (he of Canada) we find that the apparent two Hurris are one and the same. JV-N was initially at Duxford and then transferred, mid '06, to Vintage Wings (Montreal based) where it resides. Also find that JV-N is not a IIC but a Mk IV (shame and disgrace upon me) and now carries the Canadian reg of CF-TPM hidden under the port tailplane. JV-N still carries the 'flying can-opener' logo on the port-side cowling as applied to 6 Sqdn a/c. Just another smidgeon of arcane aeronautical knowledge!!! Cheers.......Pat PS How do you tell the difference between a MkIIC and IV anyway. Link to comment
alex_kew 0 Posted November 24, 2007 Another magnificant piece of work, I've just spent the last 5 minutes or so staring at it before writing this! I think the main success of this image is the simplicity of nothing more than a great sky and some classic fighters. Wonderful.Regards, Alex Link to comment
shacknav 0 Posted November 24, 2007 Thanks Alex - that makes me feel pretty good - the aim was for simplicity and some indication of the serenity of flight. I know they are warbirds but they have feelings too! Cheers..........Pat. Link to comment
