sondra kick 0 Posted November 19, 2007 The darkness here adds some mystery to the image, IMHO its almost too dark though. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted November 19, 2007 Hey, there, Younes, how are you? This is beautiful! Wonderful light and colors you've captured. I love the vertical format too. Excellent details in a perfectly exposed shot; lots to see in this, my friend! The light is just sublime! Well done. A 7/6 anonymously. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
michael anderson 0 Posted November 19, 2007 Spectacular Younes! The red skies reflected in the lake is gorgeous and I love the red highlights on the foreground tree. It's fantastic as is, and I also like a version where the bottom 1/6 of the photo is cropped out. Great job with the processing on this one! Link to comment
tomlohrman 0 Posted November 19, 2007 Younes, the composition is outstanding, the areas you travel are a landscape photographers dream. You are certainly producing fantastic images of these places. Might I suggest a tad more definition here to allow a bit more details, either way a beautiful image, best to you! Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted November 19, 2007 Sorry we didn't get to shoot together in Canada. It was difficult as I was not travelling alone. Wished I were here to get these stunning colours. The post is too dark but the other version is perfect. The composition is original and excellent. Link to comment
younes 0 Posted November 19, 2007 Thanks everyone for your input. Highly appreciated as usual. Tom: I reposted with increased brightness and extra sharpening (though most of the lack of definition stems from the wind induced motion in the reeds). Michael: I certainly considered the crop (and really like the look as well, for me it's just a matter of maximising pixels...we don't all have the luxury to shoot with a Hassy ;-D). Kah Kit: yeah it's really too bad we couldn't meet. Though now that I 've seen your photo on your profile I am pretty sure I saw you at the Athabasca falls on Sept 12 early afternoon). I went back to the Vermillion lakes quite a few times and was mostly disappointed, I have a few other shots from another day...but i am not too satisfied with the comp.) Thanks again. Link to comment
will king 0 Posted November 19, 2007 Younes, awesome shot man. Love the detail on the wood and mossy water. Is this the same peak that Marc Adamus captured with that amazining light? Man, you're lucky to live near places like this. I have to make it a point to spend a few weeks in the Canadian Rockies. Link to comment
younes 0 Posted November 19, 2007 Thanks Will...yup that is where Marc took that insane shot: the Vermillion Lakes. Unfortunately I don't leave near anything like this, and god knows how much I wish I did. I just took a trip to the west coast a couple of months ago. It is a photographer's heaven, strongly recommended (though you might never want to go back home :D). Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted November 20, 2007 It couldn't have been me cause I never went to Athabasca falls! Link to comment
