These pretty little flowers are known as "skyrockets" and I thought

this would be a fun interpretation of them. What do you think? Thanks

for looking as always! :)

This is a very attractive image Kristy. I love the way you created the border. My only negative comment would be that the background is rather busy. Still...a lovely image; congratulations.

I really appreciate your comments...as that is why I am here at PN!

This photo started out as a trial with my new macro lens, and when I started playing around with Photoshop, this was the result of that fun. Now after rethinking your suggestions, I tend to agree with you. My next attempt will be for a more simplistic backdrop. Thanks for taking the time to comment. :)

Thank you Kristy for receiving my comments in the spirit that they were intended. I have learned SO much from my P.N. friends. It is easy to say something like "great shot, keep up the good work" and that may be a great ego stroke but it isn't really instructive. On this shot you don't have to go to the trouble of finding another backdrop; while you are playing in Photoshop you can select part of the background and then add some blur to it...that will make the foreground stand out more. Another way to make the background less obvious is to use the burn tool with a nice soft brush to darken the background. Don't you love Photoshop?!! Kristy, I'll look forward to your future posts. gary

Now that's what I'm here for at PN...to learn! Thanks for the detail advice on the shadows/color, as that makes me look at this photo in a whole new way.

To be honest Shay, this was my first attempt at "oob" because I thought it might be fun to try. Now that I see your giraffe image I totally get what your saying. And as far as the color thing- I've been looking at some of my images on other monitors lately and alot of them seem super saturated but don't appear that way on the computer I usually work from. So, I have to look into that...any advice there?

But really, I do thank you for seeing this photo "oob", I really appreciate the comment and I'll try your suggestion on shadows in the future! Take care, Kristy :)
