charles hartley 0 Posted November 16, 2007 I think its a great shot! Maybe a bit over exposed on the left? But it makes little difference. I like it a lot. Link to comment
bill_proud 0 Posted November 16, 2007 This looks a tad over exposed. Don't know if you are using fill flash but my guess is no because there is no catchlight in the eyes. If you used a flash, you could dial down the background exposure with your f/stop by a half stop, or third stop and still maintain good light on the animal using the flash. Don't forget your meter wants to make everything 18% gray, which is what it did to this animal. If he is supposed to be black, you would unederexpose from the reading to maintain that black. best Link to comment
gorkaregidor 0 Posted November 17, 2007 I agree with the opininons about the image being a bit overexposed (especially at the back of the chimp) but it still is a great portrait that captures personality. I think it would work better if you use the vertical portrait format cropping the green area on the righ. Link to comment
graening 0 Posted November 18, 2007 This is one thoughtful primate. I agree about cropping slightly different. Cutting off from the top and right would help to put emphasis on the face expression, but I also believe, that it is good to keep the balance how it is and leave some space in the direction where the alpha is looking. Dan Twitchell 0 Posted November 18, 2007 Hi Jan This is an incredible capture, perfect timing. I disagree with any cropping on this shot, I like the balance. Would only suggest to enrich the blacks. Nicely done...DanT Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 23, 2007 This is nice, you don't need to crop this one - but a little overexposed which could be easily cured. Deeper blacks and greens would make for a striking picture. Link to comment
