loic brohard 0 Posted April 2, 2008 Hi Roy, superb combined 'architecture' and 'street' photo. I like very much the 'colors' of the shot. Congratulations, Loic Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 3, 2008 Architectural photography is difficult and I always find myself being more critical when it comes to architecture. However, this shot does stand out. I like it for reasons relating to the lighting, exposure and the way in which you have framed the image. This all compliments the structure and materials used nicely and I would go as far as sugesting that the people in this photograph add the real strength. Quite often photographers will capture architecture without people in the frame. I for one find myself guilty of this on occasions. But I really think this photograph strengthens the argument that people in these types of shots adds a real scale to the overall image. Nice work! Link to comment
mcclure 0 Posted April 5, 2008 you defined my business role in a single image - tragically, business is now little more then monotone. best, john Link to comment

drr 0 Posted April 6, 2008 Thanks, Jeff, David, Loic, Tom, John and Joaquim for your thoughtful remarks. Joaquim, It was a bit of luck that I got to see Oporto at all. We landed in Paris in time for a flight crew strike and had to re-route via a Portuguese Airlines flight with a stop in Oporto on our way to Lisbon. I regret we had no time to explore Oporto as the view on approach to the airport was quite lovely. I especially remember the numerous colorful sailboats plying the harbor waters. I Thought the airport itself was amazingly beautiful and a worthy tribute to Portugal's pioneer role in navigation. The people we met were most hospitable. I look forward to returning. - Roy Link to comment
