hoffsc1 0 Posted July 19, 2002 I love this lighting. This sets an interesting mood. I would have liked to see the whole tree and shadow in the frame though. Link to comment
markskelly 0 Posted August 8, 2002 This image has rated much higher than I expected since I posted it. I thought it was pretty good, but I'm surprised by some of the ratings. If anyone could explain to me how it strikes them, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. Link to comment
paperfenix 0 Posted August 8, 2002 Good day Mark: I think your picture was taken in a perfect moment and the angle of your camera is So nice. That´s the principal argument for me in order to say that the picture has an interesting artistic angle. Although the medium tones are not in the correct form, because I can´t find perfect tones in White and you know that any picture in Black and White must have several medium tones. gareth_harper 0 Posted August 8, 2002 It's just a lovely shot. Well composed with the tree on the left hand third. That with the shadow, the way the ridge leads out to the right and the dramatic backdrop make for a great shot. Great composition, light and location are what makes this photo so nice. laura_senteno 0 Posted August 29, 2002 i think it's the surreal quality of it. i'm half expecting to see it come to life in a b & w movie. the sky looks a bit too perfect; the same goes for the mountains in the distance, how smooth the foreground is, and the striking clarity of the entire shot. the tree contrasts with the lighter tones perfectly, and the little shrub seems to echo it. really really beautiful, lovely work. :) Link to comment
tcairns 0 Posted March 17, 2003 Mark, this one caught my eye for two reasons. First is the composition. Taken at the right time to get a great shadow, and possessing a wonderful balance between the old and young tree, it is altogether serene. Secondly, I have a shot probably taken only a stones-throw away on the very same unmistakable ledge. (See the Fist Full of Photos folders and youll recognize it instantly.) Nice photo and portfolio. On another note, thanks for rating my Tired photo. It was taken unstaged on the banks of a drought-stricken dam. I really didnt think anyone would give it a second glance I just posted it because I liked it. Just goes to show that the most unlikely photos can draw the most curious reactions. Link to comment
StuartMoxham 10 Posted April 30, 2003 The second I saw it just you thought wow, I wish I could take this myself. The ratings speak for themselves. Great Job Link to comment
