Leah, the expression on his face is just priceless. Unfortunately, the image takes a big hit from having the lower half of his body cropped out. It would probably also benefit from a modest boost to contrast in your editing software of choice. Thanks for posting this shot, that little smile of his is adorable.

Leah, I understand all too well that these cute little critter don't often hold their poses while we try multiple angles, focal lengths, and exposure settings! I love photographing animals but it seems I rarely if ever capture them as perfectly as I hope to.

In terms of contrast, it looks like you shot this on a cloudy day and the light is just a little flat. Some photos suffer terribly from that effect but this one is actually quite nice as it is. Pumping up the contrast simply makes the brightest parts brighter and the darkest parts darker and can be a big help bringing dead looking photos to life. Even the most basic editing software should have this capability and many photos benefit from a mild boost to contrast.

I've attempted the contrast adjustment on this photo myself and it turns out to be a modest improvement at best. I was going to attach a copy so you could see, but couldn't figure out how!

Yes, my husband and I are stationed in germany and in the winter most of all we get it white and grey skies so it makes awesome photos difficult at times. I am going to post some more probably either later tonight or tomorrow but I have tons if you want to see in my portfolio. Thanks for the look and the comments. Take care
