Fingers must be strong to climb

I have a similar shot posted, but i dont know which i like better

better or worse? I tend to like this one better, but many other

people disagree.

I like the other shot better. The reason is the cluttering of the background, here, with the face to the left and the left leg of your friend which seems to just sprout out of the rock.

Still, it is a very original and nice shot. What I actually like it more, here, is the way the hand does fill the screen and the texture of the chalk does echo the one on the rock. I also like -here- the way a line of power does extend from the fingers down to the face, showing a mix of concentration and elation, typical of the sport.

These things are stronger here than in the other shot, still I prefer the other for how we get the full feeling of someone hanging in the void.
