bramadan 0 Posted November 2, 2007 What I find most intriguing about this shot is how light and some elements (black wire bench, door) create illusion of outside being inside and vice versa. I keep on trying to mentaly "move" the lamp and its shade "through" the window to complete the illusion. It is very much a feeling like those pictures of two faces that keep on turning into a vase and back. It may be just me ofcourse, but to me it is an awesome effect. Even without it it would be hard not to agree with all the posters above that it is a beautiful shot, but with the inside/outside thing going on it is that much better. Link to comment
gp1664880838 0 Posted November 2, 2007 This photo has a really nice, smooth and warm climate with a touch of nostalgia. It's well composed and well lit. The only thing that may be - in our opinion - improved is blurring it a little bit, for now the edges look unnaturally sharp. Link to comment
dianadeaver 0 Posted November 2, 2007 Joe...you are so loved by your photo.net friends sometimes I wonder if there is need for one more comment. This one though I cannot leave without commenting on. First let me say that just like in painted art, value in a photograph is not necessary found in it's power of reflecting reality (at least for me) so not looking real is perfectly fine. I am surprised with the clarity in your image despite the low light, longer exposure and live model. I am really pleased with the way her hair and its texture seems to be part of the same color scheme as the store, mirroring that pleasant warm light. The shadows from the wire bench made this look like it was on the stage of a theatre. The closed sign makes all the difference in the world. Very nicely done! Link to comment
