thomas_turk 0 Posted October 31, 2007 How dramatic would have been a splash of red or orange in all that green. You could always fake the shot, with say an orange plastic goldfish or frog, some orange peel etc.. Now its dull dull. Link to comment
stevespencer 0 Posted November 1, 2007 I took the time to view your portfolio before commenting. I see you are delving into photography in depth, and I assume that you have reached a level of visualization where you do what you do deliberately. I see you are fond of a moody sort of darkness and lower contrast in your images, and that is a style you are developing. You have some very interesting and beautiful images in your folders, especially the portaits. Now, on to the above image. I see the interest and why you photographed the scene as it is. I believe this image might actually work better if some of the distracting elements were eliminated, a little tighter crop, some increased curves & contrast as well as selective increase in saturation of the greens, but not so much as to make it a bright, cheery image, which it is not. See my suggested edit. It is easier to show than to tell. I will remove it if you wish. All critiques I do are offered constructively and with respect to the artist. Best wishes, Steve Spencer Clique404One Photographer's Vision Link to comment
Link to comment
