Georgian Bay Shore in October, contrast manipulated. Thanks for your

time and any feedback.

I'm a fan of contrasty B&W photos, which is why this one caught my eye, but I think you went a little overboard on the contrast. There's too much black and not enough grey shades, IMHO. The sky isn't so bad, but the lower half looks more like an etched lithograph than a photo.

I also think that the line between the water and grass is too close to center, which gives it the feel of two separate images pasted together. I tried cropping up from the bottom, but catching only the tips of the grass looked like something was missing. Perhaps moving a few steps to the right & forward so that other clump of grass was in front of you would allow you to move closer to the grass and lower the dividing line without feeling like you're only catching the tops of the grass.

thanks fr your feedback, this is a place I photograph all through the year and the mood and the season are communicated well in tis way, so the image suits my taste perfectly, so I will settle for it as it is, including any flaws. dont get me wrong thoughtful feedback is rare and I do appreciate reading your opinion.

Bill, It rained a cold rain & snowed a bit here today so when I first viewed this shot it sent a chill through me. More days like this coming shortly. The 'excess' contrast can be attributed to artistic license & certainly works well for certain uses. To me, the sky area is about what I've grown to expect from Georgian Bay as winter approaches. Now where did I put my snowshovel? Best, LM.

Love tht sky, Bill! Foreground works. I prefer this monochrome version to the other one. Regards.

The strong contrast does convey that stormy mood that this image implies, it makes a statement beyond a range of tones, it tells the story of the power of nature.
