regis 0 Posted October 30, 2007 It has been really difficult to find a good weather for photography in Scotland quite recently. This year's summer was certainly a very dissapointing one. After a long time of inactivity (and a few completely hopeless trips) I was really desperate for another one. Most of my trips are planned rather than spontaneous. I keep in mind the place location, time of a day, sun position and of course weather - if you can really depend on such forecasts in this country :D. I also check the tide level, wind direction (just to avoid sea spray covering my lenses) etc. At the end I can rely only on the tide forecast :) - because everything else is a lottery and usually my frustration grows stronger. This time, after a long period of heavy rains and completely unpredictable weather it was supposed to be quite calm in the evening. Forecasted "low level clouds" usually doesn't mean anything good, but with a small chance of light breaking up them, there can be an amazing spectacle. Luckily this time I found a light I was waiting for - and for that special moment I was ready with my cable release in my hand. PS. You may find a small triangular island on the horizon. It's Ailsa Craig - a natural reserve for many sea birds. Hope you'll like it, Piotr. Feel free to express your comments/critiques. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 30, 2007 Some times such an image worth all of that planning, mobilization and hard work, any north of waterford is hard to trust, not just the weather:))))) Wishing you all of the best my friend Link to comment

aginbyte 0 Posted October 30, 2007 ... stealing the thunder of the sky and sea, which is hard to do. Wonderful colors and saturation here. Admirable shot. Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted October 31, 2007 Everything is good here Piotr! The foreground was well planned and the amazing sky I will call serendipitous. I know what you mean. I also have to plan ahead and I went this morning to the nearby mountains hoping to be so lucky, only to return never tripping the shutter because of heavy fog. Such is the life of us photogs. I commend you for hanging in and being ready when things fell together. The larger view reveals the island and makes this look even more impressive. Link to comment

davidclapp 0 Posted November 2, 2007 Lovely autumn feel to this shot, the golden colours are lifted well. The problem I have is that there isnt a strong enough focal point, it is certainly a pleasent view though. I need a stronger anchor point or some more dominant features, but dont get me wrong, I do like it. I know what you mean about the weather, looks like you do your research! Link to comment
