lalit 0 Posted October 31, 2007 Fabulous composition. I would get rid of the lower left void and wait for light..forever. IT will be too exciting to see what light you can get here. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted November 1, 2007 I disagree (sorry, Lalit) ... there are a zillion photos of the place with "perfect" light. I have a bunch of shots of the Garden of the Gods park in my portfolio with a crystal clear blue sky. The lighting in this is great - an exciting sky over Colorado Springs (which doesn't happen like this often ... hey - you can see the city in the distance!) and yet no nasty shadows on the rock formations (which are almost impossible to avoid when the sky is clear). Bottom line, I like your "exciting" sky, I like the lighting on the rocks, and the only nit pick might be the fact that with your wide angle shot, the expanse of rock in the foreground takes too much prominence from the great red rocks and fabulous sky. lalit 0 Posted November 1, 2007 I like the sky too... I was just talking about light :-) Link to comment
rajeevthomas 1 Posted November 1, 2007 Lou Ann and Lalit, thank you so much for commenting. I agree that the foreground rock is prominent here. But I kind of like it I am not sure why!!. I think I loved the textures of the rock and the white rock formation in the front. Also wanted to connect the rock to the white rock ledge by composing it in a low angle then lead the eyes to the red rock formations. This is an unusual time to take any pictures at the Garden Of The Gods but I loved the red rocks against the dark blue of the stormy skies. I really did click it for the colors... more pictures are coming in dramatic light :-) thank you so much again for commenting... regards, Rajeev. Link to comment
lalit 0 Posted November 1, 2007 I agree, I also loves the texture of this rock very much and striking contrast between the colors of the red in the distance and blue in the foreground. Some angled light may also bring the shadows for the texture in the foreground and blaze on the red rock formation in the background. If you have same clouds then you got one of the most wonderful photograph :-) You brought so many comps of this place, many more than anyone has shot before. May be you could utilize as an asset for a photo essay/book over GOG. +Lalit Link to comment
rajeevthomas 1 Posted November 1, 2007 Lalit, you read my mind... Ia m trying to see if I can use some of these images. Garden Of the Gods is my one place to go and breath some fresh air, run a little bit to clear my mind (I am not sure why but running helps me a lot) and just wander to take pictures with no hurries, I really appreciate you are visiting my gallery... regards, Rajeev. rajeevthomas 1 Posted November 10, 2007 A stormy evening in the Garden Of The Gods...I went for the composition because of the two seperate rocks in front with same textures, through this composition connected well. The colorful sandstones against the blue stormy skies added to the picture... what do you think? regards, Rajeev. Link to comment

jana 1 Posted November 10, 2007 wonderful colours. As far as the composition, I might consider a crop or get rid of the dark left lower corner, that just takes a lot of attention. cheers Jana Link to comment
