Fall falls

The picture is heavily edited, so I put it in the "Digitally Manipulated" album. In some sense, I can't claim it's a photo.

Nowadays digital manipulations is so powerful and easy. A dull picture

can easily be changed into a colorful one. Are you fed up with this

kind of pictures?

This is very beautiful and very well exposed photograph.

The manipulations is not todays invention, photographers used to manipulat and alter the nature of their images in the past, allthough it is not digital wise but conversional methods been used a lot, creative photography been there for decads, manipulations carried out while capturing the image, in the dark room while processing the films metarials or during printing process.

Digital softwares like photo shop is only converting the methods used in the past to digital process, to master this you need to know the technical manipulations process of photography in the past and implement it digitally now a days.

This is my opinion about this subject and I thank you for sharing this image with us

Wishing you all of the best

What did you see? Did you see the original "washed out" version through the lens, or did you see a sharp colorful image. I do not believe it is manipulation to recreate what you saw. Your manipulated version here appears to be overly saturated and sharpened, perhaps to make a point? Make your corrections to bring your image back to reality, not to enhance to the point of painting. Of course, there are exceptions... I personally like to show movement with water, so is that reality? It's not a black/white issue. Just an opinion here! :-)

Mike:

I agree with your saying "bring your image back to reality". I always try to edit my photos on the same day that I take them while the scenery are still fresh in my memory.

Dave, this is a gorgeous landscape in the vertical format. I particularly like the way the eye follows the stream up to the falls. Beautiful color palette too. Superb work, my friend! A 6/6 anonymously. Cheers! Chris

Most digital images (unlike film) need a degree of post-processing to look normal. The best post-processing is that which can't be detected. Unfortunately, too many folks think that if a little bit is good, even more will be better. To which I often reply, "Just because you can doesn't mean you should." Yours is a nicely composed image, and it's obvious that you've amped the saturation to prove a point. You'd still have a very nice photo if the saturation was reduced to a point that it was more believable, particularly in the yellows, reds, and the green in the background.
