drjoe2009 0 Posted October 27, 2007 Katherine, I would love to know how you arrived at this technically. I have tried many times to get moon shots, but it seems that I always come up short. I also broused your portfolio. You obviously have a great eye for composition. Adding you to my favorites. Thank you for sharing. Joe Link to comment
myphotocreation 0 Posted October 30, 2007 I used my night landscape setting on my Nikon 8800 because it slows the shutter speed and turns on noise reduction. Right now the moon just happens to be very close to the earth, the night was perfectly clear, I centered the moon well, I used my tripod for the first time, and then I read, read, and then read my owners manual again to make sure night landscape was the best setting for attempting this shot. These were just some of the details I used to take this shot. I hope this helps you a little bit. I looked up your camera on the internet and your camera should be able to produce the same shot, the only thing I couldn't find about your camera is your optical zoom, my optical zoom is x10 and that may change the way the camera takes the shot. Good luck and keep on trying. Kathleen Olsen Link to comment
thierrylaflamme 0 Posted November 2, 2007 I am impressed Kathleen! Your moon shot is absolutely exceptional. The contrast is perfect. Also, I cannot see any noise, which makes this kind of picture even more beautiful. Nice work! You may consider going out at night more often with your camera. :-) Cheers, -Thierry Link to comment
