There is a person in the back. It adds a feeling of size, although it does seem to take away

from the picture.

What do you think?

This bridge is a monument to evil and the worst type of war crimes committed during WWII, and that is something that should never be forgotten. Thousands of Prisoners of War died from some of the most inhumane and harsh conditions imagineable at the hands of the Japanese military, a fact cleverly concealed in the 99% fictionalized rubbish shown in David McLean's film, Bridge on the River Kwai.

The one scene where Alex McGuiness first views the bridge, with prisoners diving from the bridge, swimming and lolling about on the shore, is a stain on the honor and memory of those who perished. This photograph is a good Memorial to those who died under the disciplined and intentional murder to the prisoners and local natives.

How innocent it all appears today. View it, then go to Google and find out the rest of the story. Learn how the movies so often distort history and give our youngsters perverted viewpoints, for what end, for what purpose, we cannot discern.

Thanks to the photographer for his careful work; you can almost see the spectres of the thousands of victims lined up on the railroad ties.
