What I especially like about this one is the abscence of any give aways placing this in modern day - it looks like it could be a trio of Mustangs somewhere in 1945 (other than unit markings, etc - but still, lets get into the moment, shall we?). This one really cought my eye and I really enjoyed it - great work, as usual. While I am here - Happy New Year, may you have an outstanding 2008!

Lovely action pic of a great display - and while I agree with Peter, perhaps you could take a wee liberty with actuality and remove the lamp standards (circa 1990) and the fuzzy pylon. Nit-picking a bit but the standards do catch the eye. Keep them coming in '08.

Hi Alex,

I think this is a wonderful angle to have caught this trio from. I think I may have cropped tighter top and bottom for a more letterbox shot as the trees and skyline offer a few too many distractions as mentioned above (or gone for the cloning option!).

The major negative for me on this particular image is the sharpness. I am new to photo.net so I don't know if it is weird image compression (certainly the image I posted looks iffy until viewed 'larger') but I can't see a focal point on this image at all.

With the aircraft at as tight an angle as this and considering the speed they are doing at this point, getting images like this one sharp is a gamble most of the time.

Well, Pat has the eagle eyes - I didn't even notice the lamps. I think you can take that as a compliment, since the subject drew my attention to the point where I didn't see the lamps:)

Your feedback is gratefully received!

Peter, I do indeed take it as a compliment that you must have been so transfixed on the planes that you got tunnel vision! Especially considering they're not Spitfires!

Pat, James, your suggestions are most welcome and I'll work on a rework when I get a chance!

Best wishes all for 2008!

Alex

Alex, just a quick tweak - brush out the lamps etc, wee crop and totty sharpen. Maybe it's best left as the original? Hope you don't mind.

Cheers..........Pat
