This image has got some sort of surrealistic air to it: a dream maybe. A lot of digital work has gone into it and the result is nice. The split complementary color scheme is harmonic with green-red 50-50 proportion out of balance shifted to red the result has become very energetic. I am not sure if I can guess why you have left a blur right there at the foot of the frame while the upper portion is tack sharp. Whatever idea has motivated you to compose this image is way out of my reach since commenting on the surrealistic content is not an easy job, but I sure love to ask for an elucidation. Aesthetically, the work is very captivating and energizing.

Hi Arash,

You commented on one of my photos when I first came on PN but I havn't heard much from you since, so welcome back. Lets start with the blur in the left.. The image is actually of my daughter who is seven so I believe she moved her hand which caused the blur. I also was bothered by this, however could not find an appropriate cropping point, so I left it as is.

What I liked about this image was the movement in the hair. It was a very windy day and we were getting blown all over the place. I overlayed an image of my daughters lady bug wings (black, red and gold) which adds the circular shapes and I used the difference property which essentially inverts the colors. I called it Angel due to the Halo like images around her head as well as just a bit of my own facetiousness. Well thanks for the interest. Let me know if you have any other thoughts or comments. Thanks for your thorough explanation. Actually, I have done a lot of critiques on a variety of styles and I am good at analyzing classic compositions, but when it comes to fine art and surrealism, I step forward tentatively. These styles are directly linked to the imagination. It's tough to try to decipher the maze of philosophical and psychological of such images. It even necessitates studying the photographer's mental schemata. Thanks a lot.
