John Peri 1,038 Posted July 10, 2002 Another incredible shot, but I would love to see some human figure added in the foreground. Link to comment
rick vincent 1 Posted July 11, 2002 Interesting lens distortion here. Creates a tunnel that the water appears to be rushing through. The only thing you don't have here is a strong focal point. I think John Peri's comment was reaching out at the same idea. There seems to be a missing element. Not necessarily a person, but something that could act as a more powerful point of interest. John Peri 1,038 Posted July 12, 2002 Ha Ha! you are saying I am a little obsessed. Maybe you are right! Still love this incredible photo though (I originally gave it 10/9) and came back to see it again. That being said, I maintain that a reclining nude in the foreground would be stupendous... elaine_roberts1 0 Posted July 16, 2002 This is fantastic! It just draws you in, in a way that other formats could not. The exposure and tonality are wonderful. A human would detract. it is very surreal and appealing, as if it is on some alien planet on the shores of some strange seas. Link to comment

billangel 9,671 Posted January 25, 2004 First, let me add my compliments to your overall portfolio. I would suggest, however, that you consider utilizing a digital editor, such as Paint Shop Pro, to reduce or eliminate the "fish-eye" effect introduced by the wide angle lens used for this and some other of your images. I have taken the liberty to utilize Paint Shop Pro's "Fisheye Distortion Correction" filter to create an alternate version of this image. In my opinion, the corrected version showcases the spectacular landscape (and your talent for depicting it) more effectively than does the uncorrected version. Link to comment
suvi_s 0 Posted August 8, 2004 Great shot. I really like the fisheye - it creates a sense of inevitability/unstoppability with regards to the encroaching waves. The effect creates a point of interest otherwise absent in the actual composition - to remove the fisheye would be to remove the particular appeal of this image, which is quite subtle, but very effective.
