Wow. The placement of that one patch of color draws the eye in immediately, like watching a starting line. And then the eye races around trying to find......nothing, as your title states. A reminder of the effectiveness and vapidness of advertising. You purchase your new jeans thinking you'll have life and color and then find you're still some everyday joe walking around on cracked sidewalks.

The slab looks like a starting block...and the pavement grid looks like a racing lane - or train track. Lovely!

Jack,,busy as I'm with the exhibition preparation...I need to see what is new with your work. this is so special. the running man looks like running in a closet( see the hanged coats)... to nowhere? he is "running" to the empty space on the right ;-)),I like the light and shadow that are looking like out/in .It is a riddle really, what is it, a closet? an enterance? reflections?Only your eyes know , Jack. interesting.
