there's something sweet about this shot but when its larger i want to know whats below the market sign...the color with the grey im not sure about

 

I dunno. Having lived near Pike Place for a couple of years, I think this shot doesn't do the place justice. Maybe if the Photoshopping wasn't done... Also, the whole glory of the place is it's vendors and people. Shooting just the sign doesn't seem right in this context. Now the sign AND the vendors and people would be interesting.

 

Keep in mind, I am biased here.

I've got to agree with Robert. The purpose of the place is to foster commerce and community. I don't get that sense from seeing just the sign. A wide angle from closer in, with the sign in the background and a strong foreground element would really have helped here.

well, the other comments are about the place and another way of photographing it, which is fine. What I like about this photo is the simple colour range. There is something mildly amusing about the juxtaposition of the two "market" signs, almost as if farmers and the public were from two planets. But that is my fevered brain. I like the lines of the windows, buildings, signs, and the redness of this photo.
