NimArt 1 Posted October 17, 2007 Hi, this is Damavands mountain : when I was taking this photo it was too fogy on the mountain. Your comments and critiques appreciated, thank you. Nima Link to comment
stp 6 Posted October 18, 2007 This is an unusual presentation, some may say an impression more than an image. The only thing I'd like to tweak is to remove that fragment of cloud in the lower left, leaving two complete clouds in the bottom part of the photo. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted October 23, 2007 Hi, Nima. I saw your question on one of my photos indicating that you did not fully understand my first comment. What I was trying to say is that the outlines of the mountains are so faint that they can barely be distinguished as mountains. Most photographs of mountais are much more distinct. Therefore, it seemed to me that perhaps your intention was more "impressionistic" than "documentary." Your image gives a hint of mountains, because they are almost lost in the mist. Your image gives an impression of mountains in general, and does not focus on a particular mountain. It's the same as a silhouette, except instead of standing out as a silhouette, the colors make the mountains almost indistinguishable from the sky. In trying to suggest a very minor change to enhance the image, I think the part of the cloud in the extreme lower left could be cloned out, leaving two complete clouds (lower left and low center). I suggest this only because some people (myself included) find that fragments of things along the edge (e.g., rocks, clouds, tree limbs) often detract from the image (although sometimes they can't be avoided, either). Hope this helps explain my comment. I like the image, partly because it is so unusual. Link to comment
