David, Is there no end to your versatility and curiousity? You must prowl your garden with the reflexes of a cat. You are a font of delightful surprises -- and good shots! (I'm quite sure the truly expert insect shooters consider this slightly too dark and not quite tack sharp. But I, an ignorant stalker of faces, find it delightful.) Regards, Joe

Oh, yes, I'm all over the place, finding targets of opportunity... being kind, my photographic ramblings might be called eclectic. I don't know about the reflexes, but I certainly get lucky from time to time! As for macro and/or insect photography, this surely isn't a very good example of either, but it appeals to me as a pleasing picture, and I was drawn to the contrast between the dark of the background and the light butterfly, who stars in this shot more because of its color and form than it's insectness. Thanks for your kind, encouraging words. I'm glad this shot pleases your eye, too. Regards, David.

I finally have some time to sit down and look at some of the great work going on at Photonet, and this is the first image I looked at. I must say this is very good. The shades of blue and green do not overpower--perfectly complimenting your subject.

Cheers!

Thank you! To my eye the blue and green tones and the background in general is thick and rich, and the butterfly is like whipped cream atop something really good. Anyway, I'm glad you like this one and took the time to tell me so! Regards, David
