johncrosley 0 Posted January 13, 2008 See, honesty in ratings earns respect. .[.Z (Bailey Seals) earned it from me (after I sucked a little wind and got red from outrage for awhile at what I felt were his low ratings on my 'wonderful' photos -- at least others rated them a full point higher, so they must have been much more wonderful than Seals rated them, I reasoned -- I was wrong of course). After I settled down and did my research (I tend to do that when I get angry before I explode), I found he was well-founded, wrote an open letter to him inviting him to rate my photos whenever he wanted, however low he wished, (it's in my portfolio comments still), he wrote an answer (recently removed), and said he liked my photos, (surprise) and noted he had given a photo a 6/6, and that other members had threatened him with retributive ratings if he were to post something, (because he was seen as a harsh critic) (my words, not his, but we knew the truth.) I note you'll find I judged him to rate postings against all photography, not just all Photo.net postings. And ratings were not anonymous and low raters were excoriated by low-rated members. He had and still has my respect, and I've received many compliments for inviting him to continue to rate my photos, low or not, because I saw him to rate honestly and according to a schema that made sense. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it, Shay. John (Crosley) Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted June 5, 2014 You come of with some really far out stuff but "Note to Nina" and robo raters beats them all. I do however like the photo very much. Link to comment
johncrosley 0 Posted June 5, 2014 I saw Nina very, very recently. She is even more beautiful now, seven or so years later. john John (Crosley) Link to comment
