mvisionphotography 1 Posted October 17, 2007 I was really having a ball on this one. You should try this some time. High speed while people dance ;) Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 17, 2007 Micky, working with the performing arts, especially dance/ theater dance, I think you did a very nice work in capturing the FEELING of movement, the body language of expressing that movement and choreography ( as both are functioning together). I think the blur as motion, was a slow shutter speed?, that is the result if a slow one is using. I think as well that it is well places on the frame, without any BG, even BG can add some details and context, but is not always necessary. I think it is a good attempt( like with your daughter and friend "dance") so it will be nice to see more works of yours in that direction. Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted October 17, 2007 I then cloned out a floor board and a door. They were just about six feet in front of me and I was trying to go for a kind of high key ghost feel partly because I wnated to get their skirts flying and knew that I would not be able to post their faces. I was just trying different techniques mostly for fun. I do this all the time with my kids. The lights were really high as we were in a kind of gym so there were white lights and a white floor and white wall. So, I went for it. All I had to do was clone out a few background dark places and there you go. If you would like I can e-mail you the original. It is just the same only a bit of color and the background areas. I have done no other changes but to darken a bit of her eye and mouth an had to create a bit of her right arm where the door was. YES, I am very facinated by these movements in dance. Doing different things. Or maybe it is that I can't get anyone to actually be still ;) No truthfully it is the motion I love the most in the pictures. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 17, 2007 Thanks for the explanation Micki. I like the dark side of the dance and while I shoot at a show, I work with a higher ISO, and underexposure till the end of my camera( -2) to avoide the strong light on the stage, you have had diferent condition, and nicely used them. send it to me, I will see the difference. I love dance and movement, and my coming exhibition next month will be about dance and a dance of 10 minuts will open it! I enclose the invitation, but I think I will send it to the group as well, even most detaisl are in Hebrew. Link to comment

petemillis 0 Posted November 14, 2007 Micki, it's taken me a while to get to this one - but I'm glad I have. This has beautifully captured the motion of the dance. You done good. I like the way you decided to clone out the floor - that has worked well for this. Pete Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted November 14, 2007 Can't do it. It is not me. I feel I have to have my own style. I don't know why but I feel that is my calling in photography. Link to comment

Someone I promised to add his picture to my favorites yesterday and forgot to do it and forgot who it was and what picture it was. Thanks for your comments and high ratings on my three latest!
