hotwired_56chieftain 0 Posted October 9, 2007 I usually won't comment on someone's self-portrait, but I'll attempt it ONCE. The first thing I noticed were the eyes, I cannot help it, I love eyes. I'm assuming those freckles are real and not painted on, I like those too, for personal reasons as well as making this photo work. There's a time and place for makeup, but all-to-often people cover things up, hiding the natural. The "lines" of the photo work, for me at least. The light, contrast, and shadows make it rather dramatic, also a good thing. Great photo of a talented woman! Link to comment
koendb 0 Posted October 9, 2007 But personally I feel it is a bit too black, in particular the left side which makes the hair less visible than it could be. Nice portfolio too, by the way. Link to comment
peterb1 0 Posted October 9, 2007 More I look at this picture... more I like it. First your eyes get my attention, later skin, later... Please keep shooting self-portraits. Thanks for this one. Regards, Peter Balinski www.canadadigital.com Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 10, 2007 Beautiful dramatic shot. I like the pose; while it's quiet in itself, the style of the photo leads one to the fire in the eye, which bespeaks the artist. Well done. Link to comment

loic brohard 0 Posted October 12, 2007 No matter the left dark side, it goes well with the natural of the photo, and this self-portrait is amazing, and the result beautiful. Please shoot and post more ! I like many photos of your portfolio a lot. Link to comment
jongaus 0 Posted October 12, 2007 Very beautiful. Strong and fragile at the same time. Eyes like a deer, and the pose too almost resembles an animal, open-minded, alerted to a possible threat, but curious enough to watch and not run, yet. Thats' my interpretation. A very good self-portrait, one of the best I've seen. Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted November 16, 2007 Intelligence, feminine, sensual and captivating beauty. This self portrait (difficult to do always) is an excellent work of aesthetics. Chapeau for you. Link to comment
bojidar 0 Posted June 2, 2008 Privet! (Hi!) I like this image a lot, it jumped at me from amongst the bw-portraits. I like the contemplative mood and the intense look into the camera (actually at me, the viewer, and in this case also reviewer). The freckles seem a bit too intense (although they might be like this in real life too), but they add a lot to your personality. The not very orderly hair fits nicely into the mood. The tones and lines in the photo are very good, EXCEPT for the 1/4 of the area on the left. That's my only critique, that this area is so undefined and "unmotivated" -- quite opposite to the rest of the image. How did you manage this self-portrait? I mean, so perfectly composed, so well in focus, etc. And how do you run to the camera, trip the shutter and then run back in front of the camera and look so not-at-all-attached to the world, not at all thinking about the technical aspects of the image? Respect! Great image, enjoyed it a lot! Link to comment
jkilgo 0 Posted March 14, 2009 I like this portrait...very revealing I think. Nicely composed and the B&W tones and textures are just great....my favorite part though are the freckles :-) Nicely captured. Link to comment

BobSandford 0 Posted May 8, 2010 i like how the boldness of the unabashed hard-edged treatment of the details fits the intensity of your gaze. suggests your ability to see like only a photographer can... Link to comment
