I note strongly the tired, life-battered look on the man's face as oppossed to the innocent, child-like interest (always hope and optimism) on the boy's face. I am not sure how I feel about not seeing the woman's face or expression, but the colour of her saree (and also of the colour in those bed clothes) do add to the 'feel' of this very strong image!

What jumps out are the blues and the expressions of the child and man. I am puzzled about the lights and shadows, difficult to understand for an unmanipulated photo. Karl

The thing that gives reason to live, and it's exteremly sounds in your photo. I think this photo will be more effective in B/W mode. Great shot.

Yes on one hand I would have liked to have seen womans face in shot...or if not then i would have cropped her out completely too avoid distraction. The tones, colour, lighting and expressions are great.They seem to be looking above you/the camera any particular reason why?

Very thought provoking. Sadly there are a lot of parents like these raising their families by the roadside with no basic amenities that folks elsewhere take for granted. Very well taken photograph. Regards.

Marvelous shot this is,you have captured the expressions,but why do'nt you kept that woman (behind the subject)in frame.
