A very difficult capture, although it may have looked better in color: the b&w blocks some of the vapor on the wings.

Dunno about the color, but I really like the effect I can see here! My suggestion would be to rotate this a little so that it appears to be either climbing or diving towards one of the corners (I would choose diving, personally). I think that will enhance the sense of motion, when compared with a horizontal view, and diving feels more like attacking as compared with fleeing. My 2 cents.

It is in color. You can barely see the rainbow colors on the tailplanes. The full-res shows it better. It was rainy and cloudy...that may be why it appears to be a B/W image. Grey plane and grey clouds make for dull images! Thanks for the comments.

Great caption! I don't know why they failed recognise it as colour. The cockpit shows the pilots with brownish highlights as well.
