susan stone 0 Posted October 6, 2007 I didn't have a clue in what category to put this so it's under "Cars and Vehicles" 'cause at one time that old motorbike was someone's wheels. Thanks for the visit amigo's. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted October 6, 2007 And I was hoping that you would finally post this image. I'm still kicking myself for not going inside to take some photos of my own in this barn. Next time... A very good choice to show this in b&w because of all the clutter and low light. What a museum piece this is! Link to comment
terrygilroy 0 Posted October 6, 2007 Great shot, B & W goes with the era, guess that's why I'm losing my colour! Regards Terry Link to comment
pnfphotography 0 Posted October 6, 2007 :) fun indeed I prefer the four legged type ! Fun image the stories the old saddles and bits could tell hmmmm..... lol Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted October 6, 2007 Yes Susan, nicely done. It's difficult to tell if the shed is currently in use. The bags of cement mix and some of the extraneous tack make it look in use but the clutter on the other hand... Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted October 6, 2007 Thanks to you Shawn, when you posted the B&W image of the old stove it reminded me of this shot so I "worked it over" and posted it. Glad you like it. We're all "loosing our color" Terry, but with age comes wisdom......I hope. I can tell PNF that you're definitely a horse person, look at all the old equine history in this barn. Someone might pitch something in the door once in a while Dave, but for the most part this place is basically abandoned. Link to comment
jcpopper 0 Posted October 6, 2007 Nice, interesting shot with perfect tones. Regards... Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted October 6, 2007 Thanks Joseph, there was so much "stuff" at this place it was hard to decide what to shoot! Link to comment
andrea allison 0 Posted October 7, 2007 Great composition Susan. Nicely done, I like it!!! Kind Regards Andrea Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted October 7, 2007 Thanks Andrea, several people have said I should do more B&W so I'm experimenting with converting some of my images to grayscale and this composition seemed well suited to that conversion. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted October 8, 2007 I love it! Great composition, Susan. Are those old newspapers in the bottom left corner? Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted October 8, 2007 If memory serves me the items to the bottom left are concrete sacks....there was stuff strewn all over the place. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 8, 2007 I just love this one! I didn't shoot in there, either, and wish I had. I love the contrast you got, and the "horse" stands out nicely, in spite of being so surrounded by stuff. Link to comment
john falkenstine 1 Posted October 9, 2007 In the R/H Corner the remnants of the engine can be seen. Its a project "gone bad" Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted October 9, 2007 This old horse has been put out to pasture for sure Kim, when you come visit again we shall return. Right now we're busy on the ranch gathering pairs for Fall shipping and I won't have much time to play on PN. Good eye John, leave it to you to spot what I had completely been oblivious too, there was so much stuff scattered around for all I know the engine could have been from one of the dozen's of other mechanical "beasts" lurking around this old abandoned ranch. Glad you stopped for a peek.... Link to comment
vetterhome1 0 Posted March 4, 2008 Great view at the worn things. We have to study the details. Well done. BR Joerg Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted March 5, 2008 Thanks for the visit Jorg, there's so many things in this image that every time I view it I find something interesting that I over looked before. Link to comment
ryan_mitchell2 0 Posted October 18, 2009 What a great image. The lighting is beautiful. I love the composition, even with all the clutter the bike still catches the eye first. Link to comment
