petemillis 0 Posted October 3, 2007 Slow shutter speed to show Speak No Evil running to Hear No having already frightened See No! There was a special trick involved that consisted of having Speak No standing on a strip of paper! Wish I could have lost the backgroun - any ideas how to do this without losing the blur around Speak No? Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted October 6, 2007 Use a wider aperture and/or place the figurines farther away from the background. Of course the wider aperture would let in more light requiring you to lower the light levels or change the ISO or use a neutral density filter. My first adjustment, provided you are happy with everything else as is, would be to increase the distance between the figurines and back drop. Link to comment
petemillis 0 Posted October 6, 2007 Thanks for the comments Gordon. I was a bit dappy when I set this up - for some reason I restricted the space I had - I didn't think to use the table lengthways instead of sideways - I could have got much more distance between subject and background if I had. I suppose that's what comes of suddenly thinking of an idea then rushing it to see a result.... I've just taken some photos this morning - it's quite bright and I wanted to run a wide aperture, so I put the polarising filter on the lens. This enabled me to open up by 2 stops and worked well for losing some marks on the wall behind the subject (one of my kids) who I was photographing - she wanted me to do "blurry face" photos! Cheers again. Pete Link to comment
