Lack of any horizon as a reference has made a very intriguing scene here which kind of borders on abstraction. The light in this low key image is very mild and shining from the right, it has picked out the texture of the lily. This is the most important element here which you have controlled very well by picking the right time and correct metering. The focal length you have chosen has also been sleek choice since a bit wider might include some irrelevant elements in the vicinity which are easy to find in such places. The calm mirror like surface of the water has also been a key point here where a disturbed surface would totally ruin the eye-catching reflection of such split complementary color scheme. the contrast of the regular lines and the irregular lines is really fabulous. nice capture.

Thank you, Arash, for your kind and very thoughtful comments. I truly appreciate you taking the time to tell me what it is about this picture that you like/dislike. I've only been doing this for a few months, so I don't always know why I like what I like, I just know what looks good to me. Thanks again, and please feel free to look at some of my other photos. I can always use constructive input on how to make things better.
