This is stunning! This is your little Alice in Wonderland. She is beautiful and this high key portrait is fantastic - capturing all the fine details and superb colouring! You rock Ger! Your portraits have come leaps and bounds - this one no exception. Really striking!

Ger, your lighting is wonderful, great pose. Katarina is very pretty, with beautiful skin and great hair. I think you should try this same pose, same light, with her hair down. If her hair is long enough, cascade it off her shoulder on one side. That isn't a criticism on this one, but a request to see more.

Great shot as that others have pointed out, Ger. She has gorgeous eyes, but I'm not sure that I care for the reflection of the white board there. Is there a good way to avoid this when using it to reflect light up into the subjects face? I'd like to try that, but I'd rather not have them show up like that. My only other nit is a small one...that tiny bit of arm showing is a bit distracting. Otherwise, this is a lovely portrait of a very lovely girl. :)

Arm- Good Spot, change that tonight.

Reflection...I think if you put it further away it should get smaller but as I said this is my first attempt so its still learning stagees..

i would love it if cropped right a bit more on the right to get rid of the arm on the right. The skin distracts me.

Also less sharp? How did that look? Love to see it with maybe her eyes still sharp.

Oh, and how did she look in B&W. Those brown eyes must look really cool. I would also love to see her in high contrast. YEAH! She might be like my son and really take a massive change when pensive. The contrast is gorgous and you might be surprised.

Ger, excellent portrait. Your portraits are so stunning these days. The eyes are superb. Absolutely wonderful to see. Best regards, Oliver

A most excellent take on the theme title then Ger - the fact you have never met her before makes this all the more beautiful - that you were able to capture her soul in those eyes!

Dia dhuit Ger...I have just come across this wonderful portrait...I don't usually critique portraits as they are such a difficult art form and my humble knowledge is not exactly encyclopaedic, so I hope you don't mind my commenting on your photo! The main fault I find with so many portraits is dead and OOF eyes. I can't fault you there, you got them bang-on...they really engage the viewer. I do agree with the comment about the reflection of the white reflector, although I don't know how to fix this. The other thing I feel about this photo is that there is certain imbalance....most of the strong features are in the top half of the photo which possibly gives it a slightly top-heavy look...the eye is drawn to the top- half of the photo ,which might very well be the intention, but I feel it needs a little something to 'lift' the bottom half. This is not intended to detract from what is a really stunning photo...in truth the only thing that I really hate about this photo is that I didn't shoot it myself. Best wishes, SLAN...FRANK. ps., feel free to rate this critique (3/3 with a comment please:) )
