It is a nice image - but I think it could do with a bit more contrast, and also the artefacts of processing are quite visible. Maybe you should try to work on this picture some more ?

I think the original is far better than the suggestion. The fact that the eyes are not shown makes it a bit ambiguous as to the photographer's intensions. Nice work!

I would agree on the over processing. The halo around the hat is the give away of to much processing the color. To me, it is obvious that the color saturation is a bit high, especially too high on red. The photo has as an orange glow. I think if you toned down the red color saturation and added some contrast; it would capture some needed highlights in the hair and beard and add some detail to key areas. I really like the photo and is worth another shot at processing. Of course we can agree the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So only take my comments as suggestions for my taste.
