bdthomas 0 Posted July 3, 2002 I got the composition that I wanted, but I want to know what others think of it. I realize that the picture is not very sharp. It was taken at 300mm (consumer-grade lens), no tripod, during the Tony Hawk (not him) skatepark tour. The skater is in our (Louisville) 24ft fullpipe. Link to comment
brian l. schiele 0 Posted July 3, 2002 I would have liked to have seen some face of the skater. To me, sports photographs are much more successful with some face. Aesthetically and technically it is OK. Link to comment
uccemebug 0 Posted July 6, 2002 My only suggestions are: a) faster film (ISO 400+) b) pull back a bit further if you're going for a sense of the whole pipe, or zoom in further yet, if possible (as in the other shot in the set), to show his reaction. That's an incredible height! Link to comment

jennings 0 Posted July 9, 2002 Theres just not enough full pipe stuff out there any more. A little faster film woudl have helped I think, the composition is good though. Have you tried it in B&W? Link to comment
mike_sea 0 Posted July 17, 2002 Wow Ben, Thats a full pipe shot! Love the sense of scale provided in this shot. I am interested in the cropping (if any used) and what the whole shot may have offered. I am imagining the end of the pipe and wondering if it would have added to this otherwise great stand alone shot. Mike Sea Link to comment
jason_abdilla_wallenborn 0 Posted October 6, 2002 I like the contrast, and how you composed it. I understand what its like to be looking into a tranny that big, this photo it crazy. I really like it. I wouldnt have pulled it back at all, we get the point that its huge, I just dont like how you cant really make out the face, you know? Like your comment on my photo, but hey, whats done is done, the next time we'll remember that. Good Job. Link to comment
