A recent butterfly picture of a unusual butterfly, the Baltimore

checkerspot. What do you think of it as an image?

As an image, I think this is great.

 

In going through the other insect pictures you've posted, I note the distinct advantage your D30 has over the G1 in putting the background out of focus and, therefore, making it less distracting.

 

And I'm really envious that you got a Baltimore!

A very simple and elegant composition. Nice contrast of colors, and balance of composition. This stands out amongst insect shots.

It just does not get better than this! Love the soft background, nice job with the DOF. The wisps of grass (the color et all) just makes this image. Really nice.
