An outstanding composition in my opinion. Expression captured well. Good timing I think.

Mike, I find myself wondering what life's journey holds for kids like this boy, who seemed very much alone. A musician, perhaps, or a novelist.

Yep, could be that. My guess is that most serious photographers have a history of observing rather than participating. On the outside looking in.

Is this too often the look of the youth of America?

Doug, this is another one of your compositions that just makes you stop for a moment and think. Where will he be 20 years from now? The optomist in me hopes that he will surprise us....

Great photo of an adolescent. No eye contact and the most direct connection is with the sole of his shoe. His expression is somewhere between a sneer and fear. I love it. A truthful shot.
