Mimi in late evening light

I like this photo. The cat looks like she's ready for the attack. I do think a tighter croping would show more detail in the sharply focused eye.

I'm usually a big fan of "more cropping" but in this case, as an overall portrait, I like this just as it is, the way there are three distinct color bands (the spread , the cat and the top background). It is prevented from having a static feel by the light streaks and the fact that the middle appears to be on a slant, because, I think, of the slanted dark line at the top of the dark color band behind the cat.

Very pleasing.

I'm usually not a pet photo lover, but this isoutstanding because of the light. Its as if the Sphinx came to life.
