This is a wonderful picture. I love the colour treatment. The orange is gorgeous. They make me think of extraterrestrials from the 1977 movie by Steven Spielberg "Third Type Encounters". Too bad for them they have been sold. They look so sad gazing at the infinite!

I saw this yesterday and was going to comment on it but I really didn't know what to say. It's such an odd picture, bizarre, and yet in some ways very personal. It almost feels like you know these two. Oohh, that's scary thought!

Many thanks for your feedback. I went to a Shopping Mall ,where I spotted them while window-shopping. They reminded me of "The Hobbit".I took permission from the Shop Assistant and shot them. I felt as if they are helpless & praying with folded hands "Please spare us".

 

Jack, has felt that " personal" touch.

 

Sally, these were sculpted in wood.

 

A narrow path concerning the embedding/relation (in)to the background - but I think it works, you succesfully mediated the atmosphere!
