Nikki is a very athletic model who I got several pic's of swinging

upside down from this rope. Makes for a fairly convincing underwater

look does it not?

Robert,

I persanly don't work with photoshop other than the basics

I do work with software where I generate photorealistic renderings, so I have a

good eye for what looks realistic and what dose not. Thought I would make a

couple quick comments. When working with water there are a couple of

principles to keep in mind. The first is the attenuation of water. Attenuation

is how far light travels before it looses half of it's energy, the attenuation

distance of water is aprox 1 meter. One of the practicalities of this is that

you loose the ability to see details much more quickly under water. Keeping in

mind that the moore light looses it's energy, the darker the water (and the

object in the water) will become. Looking at your scene I would say that it

was deep underwater, but that is not the case because we can see the surface,

there for there must be a week light source. Considering that I would say that

her foot should be a lot darker, and less color saturation. The other thing to

keep in mind about water is the dispersion of water, how light is refracted as

it passes through an object. This will effect the color of light under water.

The light being diffused through your under water scene is very blue, however

the light on your model is very white. The direction of the light seems to be

coming to much from the horizontal and not enough vertical as well.

Sorry

about being so long winded. I also feel like I am being harsh, I know that I

could not come remotly close as you did to pulling this effect off. All of

that said you did a wonderful job, especially on the displacement in the reflection. -Trent
